MATERIAL PERMEABILITY: Particularly in paved areas, materials with a higher permeability are implemented in an attempt to mimic the properties of a natural system to allow for the percolation and filtration of water through its surface before re-entering the water table. Apart from purifying the water, permeable surfaces also reduce the risk of flooding and erosion on a site.
